Niya Gao emigrated from Guangdong, China, to Canada at age fourteen. She works in a variety of different mediums, including photography and installation, to question the boundaries of distrust fabricated within the material layers of her human condition. She currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada, and attends Etobicoke School of the Arts for Contemporary Art.
