HEATHER BETTS

Heather Betts is a figurative expressionist painter. She uses vivid pigments and gestures to depict personal, historical, philosophical and musically related material, often drawing her inspiration directly from opera librettos or literary texts. Betts gained her degree in Fine Arts in Sydney before completing her Masters degree in Berlin in 1989. She has lived and worked in Berlin and Melbourne since that time, exhibiting in Germany, England, Austria, New York, Denmark and Australia. Her work has been regularly represented at International Art Fairs in Australia and Germany and it is widely recognised among European and Australian collectors.
