Ackeem Salmon was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. An aspiring director, photographer, fine artist, violinist, and composer, he strongly believes in the interdisciplinary practices of the arts. At the age of sixteen, Ackeem and his family migrated to Detroit, Michigan, where he studied at the Detroit School of Arts and was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to the College for Creative Studies. He has been recognized by the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and the National YoungArts Foundation, and is currently studying abroad at the Paris College of Art in Paris, France.
