Gyuri Kim is a junior at St. Paul Preparatory Seoul in South Korea. She spends her free time drawing sketches, visiting art exhibitions, and looking up interior designs or fashion designs that are made from diverse places. Her art practices are based on finding problems around her local community to solve and contribute to them. She has been not only exploring a variety of traditional art mediums but also experimenting with new materials. Her mixed media work titled “Nature Fantasy” recently received a gold key award in the 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and her fashion design project titled “Water” received 1st Place winner in the 2020 Cornell Design Award for High School Students. Kim plans to enlarge her art interests to widen her range of creativity and extend the boundaries of challenge.
