jelal huyler is an oakland, ca. born poet and emcee who does not condone linear time. his voice and work have been featured in several documentaries, namely Cracking the Codes: The System of Racial Inequality, which explores race and restorative justice in the United States. jelal published his first book of poetry Fractals (Gorilla Press) some years back. he reads for the Adroit Journal. publications of his own work include Drunk in a Midnight Choir, the Change Agent, 3Elements Review, Ink & Nebula, Eleven Eleven, 580 Split, and Likely Red Press.
