Emily Yang was raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She is always missing papaya milk and her bidet. Her work has been featured or is forthcoming in the Adroit Journal, the Margins, Waxwing, Passages North, and Puerto del Sol, where she won the 2020 Prose Contest judged by Vi Khi Nao.
